Does Hypnosis Work?

“By the way, Dr. Henderson, your explanation of the ways in which the conscious mind and the subconscious mind work with inductive and deductive reasoning was absolutely brilliant. For the first time (and I have studied self-hypnosis for a long time now) I fully begin to understand the reasoning processes of the conscious and the subconscious minds. Thank you, Dr. Henderson. Thank you very much.”

“Thank you more than you’ll ever know for your book and CD’s.  The information in your book is proving of immense value to free my life from an incredible sense of ‘stuckness’ and despair concerning not being able to achieve a future worth something to me.  I have only been working with your methods for a few days and the results, although far from their final form, have been wondrous. Thank you, again. You have done a miraculous job and your book is a wonderful gift.”

“I started last Saturday after my morning coffee doing one session per day. … I started eating less after the first session … I’ve taken off 5 lbs since Saturday!”

“I tried the induction for quitting smoking and much to my surprise it worked!!!  I`m still shocked and it`s been over 2 years!!! Thank You!!!!”

“I wanted to let you know that I purchased your relaxation talk for my 17 YO daughter. She was having a very difficult time relaxing and going to sleep at night.  She loves the tape, says she has never been able to stay awake to hear the end of it!”

“I used … this method years ago, It brought me through some real hard times and it works very well,… Again thanks.”

“I do like the ‘psychosonic’ background as it does seem to help facilitate my concentration, minimizing any ‘outside’ distractions.”

“Over the years I have purchased numerous records, tapes and hypnosis aids. Some of them cost in the hundreds of dollars . Most of them at least partially worked. Your tape is different. It is fantastic. I have never seen anything like it. It is the best I have ever seen , bar none. The success I have had with it in just a few days has been worth many times the price and I have every reason to believe that the future will be even better.” [From back in the days of cassette tapes. The hypnotic induction referred to in this comment is here (download) and here (CD).]

“After 25 years of doing psychotherapy/counseling, it is gratifying and energizing to be learning something new, profound and immensely practical.”

“You can be very proud of providing such excellent instruction & service for people!  Thank you very much for teaching me more and for increasing both my interest & skills. ‘Yes’ absolutely to does hypnosis work.”

“Thanks again!  May you live a long and healthy life!  With deepest gratitude,”

“I am an elderly person and I did not think I could learn anything new. You know, that “old dog, new tricks” thing. Boy was I wrong! Your first hypnosis book was pretty cool, but your latest one is well beyond good. The hypnotic induction methods you describe work wonders, and the autoquestioning (ideomotor questioning) is a real eye opener. I wish so much that I had this knowledge back when I was young.”

“It was a lucky thing for me I was there to hear your speech in Dallas. The whole city was talking about it and you are certainly a famous person here. I have enclosed an order for 25 of your books for my employees. Thanks again.” [Comment about a presentation made by Dr. Henderson.]

“I was in one of your ‘fatbegone’ groups on campus and was there the night we all laughed hysterically when Eunece told a bug it better get out of there before someone ate it. Great times! Because YOU are great! I lost over 30 pounds in that program and have kept it off with your method. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” [See here for fatbegone reference.]

“My husband bought the shyness tape three weeks ago, and is finding himself starting  conversations with people on his own!  He use to find excuses to leave meetings early so he wouldn’t need to talk to people, when the meeting  was over. He would hide when a meeting had a break. Now he dosen’t!  He is surprising himself.”

“[You have] taught me so much about self-hypnosis! I’m ‘practicing’ everyday now and have never slept so wonderfully!!”

“I ran the Induction and it was wonderful. I’ve never been in such a state of serenity…. Thank you again.”

“Your skill at writing has kept me glued to my computer screen! I look forward to beginning my journey with self-hypnosis tomorrow
morning. Thanks again.”

“I really like your style of getting the fundamentals of hypnosis across.  You are so down to earth and take away the mystical ‘wave of the wand’ that most people expect when they think of hypnotherapy.”

“Well done! . . . keep being irreverent, using politically incorrect words and, God forbid!, expressing yourself as you are and not as you might want others to regard you. It’s refreshing as well as so needed in this droll times of scripted lives.”

“I have much love for you and Thanks with all my heart!! I now have the answer to does hypnosis work from my own experience. Boy does it ever!”

“…I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your writing style. Your sense of humor, conversational tone and ‘anyone can do it’ attitude is refreshing and empowering. I’ve always viewed myself as “too uptight”to excel at self-hypnosis, but your material has changed my mind. so much for being zany and funny!”

“Your pages are easy to understand, and you have written everything masterfully.”

“I couldn’t find my glasses, so I whipped out my paper with the diagram on it. I explained the situation to my subconcious. [Did some questioning and learned that] to my surprise, my glasses were on a table next to the trampoline. Thanks for teaching me the pendulum.” [The reference is to ideomotor questioning.]

“Dr Henderson you are my hero. From the first few minutes when I asked does hypnosis work to the last of the course you made me feel welcome and accepted. That is unusual for me because I am a difficult person. (You must secretly hate me!) What you taught us is working for me and I am making new friends and become [a] much better person. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” [No, no hate at all. I (Henderson) always appreciated this lady’s presence and welcomed her perceptive comments and questions. And, no, in case you’ve read my book on selling, this comment is not from Blanche.]
